SIDE EFFECTS OF RAMELTEON

If you experience any of the following side effects, stop taking Ramelteon and seek emergency medical attention: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; hives). Talk to your health care provider if you experience a worsening of insomnia or any new mental or physical problems that bother you. Contact your health care provider if you experience any of the following problems: decreased sex drive, excessive flow of milk from the breasts during nursing or milk flow from the breasts that is not associated with childbirth or the nursing of an infant in women, loss of menses in women and fertility problems.

DOSAGE OF RAMELTEON

Take Ramelteon exactly as directed by your physician. If you do not understand any of the directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or physician to explain them in detail. Take each dose of Ramelteon with a full glass of water. Take Ramelteon before 30 minutes of going to bed and limit your activities to those necessary to prepare for bed. You can take Ramelteon with or without food but for Ramelteon to work best, do not take it with or immediately after a heavy meal. Do not crush or chew the Ramelteon tablets and take each tablet as a whole.

USAGE OF RAMELTEON

Tell your doctor if you: have liver disease; have sleep apnea; are taking fluvoxamine (Fluvox); are depressed or have suicidal thoughts. The physician based on the conditions listed above will suggest a suitable dose of Ramelteon for you whether it may be a lower or higher dose.
